Public post links
The best input is the canonical address of a public video or reel. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, Vimeo, Dailymotion and similar services can change their link formats, so an older share link may redirect several times before reaching the actual post.
Direct media links
A direct link ends in a media extension such as MP4, WebM, MP3, M4A, or MOV and points to the file itself. Direct files are generally simpler to process, provided the host allows access. A normal webpage address is not a direct media link even when a video appears on that page.
Links that are not supported
Do not submit private profiles, paid courses, subscription libraries, disappearing messages, live account dashboards, cloud-drive pages requiring permission, or content that asks for somebody else’s password. YT3 cannot and should not defeat encryption, paywalls, digital rights management, or account security.
Checking a link before use
Open the link in a private browser window. Confirm that the post is visible, the media plays, and no login or consent wall blocks it. Remove unnecessary tracking parameters when possible and copy the final address from the browser bar.
